A league match is the one time your padel group plays as a team. Four of you, two pairs, one club name on the fixture list. It's easy to turn up in whatever was clean.
If you're new to the format, start with how padel leagues work in the UK. You don't need a kit to play. But if you want to look like a side, it's cheap to sort and easy to get right. This guide covers what to wear on the night, four ways to plan team colours, what it costs, and how to get a team photo that's worth posting.
What league rules say about kit
Less than you'd think. The iPadel Club League rules cover fees, courts, balls, timings and results, and say nothing about shirts or team colours. There's no UK-wide padel dress code either. Some clubs set their own; Roehampton Club's padel rule is simply sports clothing and footwear.
The one rule worth knowing is about shoes. The LTA advises non-marking soles for indoor courts. Check your club's house rules before an away fixture at a venue you haven't played.
So matching kit is your call, not the league's.
What to actually wear on the night
Think of it as three outfits in one evening.
- Arriving. Evening fixtures in winter get cold. A hoodie or sweatshirt over your playing top. Our winter padel guide covers layering for a cold court.
- Playing. Whatever you move best in. Some players prefer a light technical top on court and change after. If you're not sure which suits you, cotton tee vs technical padel top breaks it down. Add grip socks and non-marking shoes.
- Afterwards. The team tee. Dry, matching, on for the photo and the drink. iPadel's rules call drinks and snacks for the away team a courtesy, not a requirement, so plan for an after.
Four team colour plans
A four-player side gives you more options than you'd think. Here are four that work.
| Plan | What it looks like | Example | Cost for four |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. One tee, one colour | Full uniform | Four Padel & Pints in Navy | £180 |
| 2. One colour, four designs | Team colour, own taste | Four different designs, all in Black | £180 |
| 3. Pair v pair | Each pair in its own colour | Pair 1 in Navy, Pair 2 in Oat Gray | £180 |
| 4. Tonal four | Four neutral shades, one each | Sunday Padel Club tee in White, Oat Gray, Sand Color, Gray Camel | £180 |
Plan 1 is the cleanest. Everyone in the Padel & Pints tee, same colour, no debate. It reads as a team from the other end of the club.
Plan 2 gives everyone a say. Pick the colour, then let each player pick their own design. Black and Navy are the safe choices here: every tee in the 2 for £90 range comes in both, apart from Swing Sign and PNG. So one player can wear the Focus tee with its WAS IT IN WAS IT OUT eye chart, another Espresso, another Love, and you still look like one side.
Plan 3 suits league padel best. iPadel fixtures are two pairs a side, and the playing order is listed as Home 1 and Home 2. Give each pair its own colour and anyone watching, or scrolling past your photo, can tell the pairs apart. Pick one dark and one light colour so the split is obvious.
Plan 4 is quieter. The Sunday Padel Club tee comes in White, Oat Gray, Sand Color and Gray Camel, so each player takes one. It looks planned without looking like a uniform. Sunday Padel Club is a Padelism original since 2025.
What it costs
Every tee above is a £48 heavyweight tee in our 2 for £90 deal. It applies automatically at checkout and covers any mix of designs and colours.
| Team | How it adds up | Total | UK delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 players | 2 pairs at £90 | £180 | Free |
| 4 players + grip socks | £180 + 4 x £14 | £236 | Free |
| 5 (one sub) | 2 pairs + 1 at £48 | £228 | Free |
| 6 (two subs) | 3 pairs at £90 | £270 | Free |
Any order of £75 and over ships free in the UK, so every row clears it.
Mixed team? iPadel runs Mixed events as well as Men's and Ladies. The unisex tees work for everyone. If some of your team prefer a closer fit, our women's range runs more true to size. The £44 women's tees aren't in the 2 for £90 deal, but two of them come to £88.
Grip socks. Our grip socks come in one design, sized UK 4-7 and UK 8-11, so four pairs match without trying. The grip socks guide explains what they actually do inside your shoe.
My first ever sale came from two people at my local club, who ordered on the spot in the club garden. Club padel has been part of Padelism since day one.
Sizes and timing
- Collect sizes in the team chat. The unisex tees are 100% cotton, 305 g/m2 and cut oversized. Size down for a regular fit, or take your usual size for the oversized look. Share the size guide, and Padelism sizing explained if anyone is unsure.
- Order when the fixtures land. iPadel seasons run five months, and captains are meant to offer dates early. Everything is made to order and takes 7 to 10 working days in the UK, so order once you know your first home match.
- Wrong size? Size exchanges are accepted.
Team photo tips
A photo taken late under court lights rarely flatters anyone. A few small things help.
- Take it before you play. Tees are dry, hair is fine, and nobody is waiting for the court. iPadel asks the home team to book courts for at least two and a half hours, and four rubbers can fill all of it. Don't leave the photo for the end.
- Mind the glass. Courts have glass walls, and glass reflects phone flash and overhead lights. Stand side-on to it, or in front of the mesh.
- Turn towards the light. Under indoor lights, face the brightest bank so faces aren't in shadow.
- Step back, then zoom. A phone's wide lens stretches the people at the ends. Stand a few metres back and zoom in a little. Four people fits a landscape frame.
- Swap with the away team. Take their photo, they take yours. Then one of all eight players.
- Photograph the score. iPadel wants results entered within 48 hours, with scores and full names agreed by both captains. A quick photo of the scores with both captains saves an argument later.
Then take a second one at the bar, in the same tees. That's the one people actually post.
Playing in a business league? iPadel says these generally run one evening a week with four players per team. If you want your company name on the shirts, we print custom tees and hoodies for teams. Email hello@padelism.co.uk.
When you've picked your plan, the full range is in tees, and the deal is in 2 for £90.
FAQ
Do padel leagues make you wear team colours? Not iPadel's. Its Club League rules say nothing about clothing, and there's no UK-wide padel dress code. Your club may have its own rules, and the LTA advises non-marking soles indoors.
Can we mix different designs and still get 2 for £90? Yes. The deal covers any two £48 heavyweight tees in the range, in any design or colour, so a team of four in four different designs still pays £180.
What colour works for every player's favourite design? Black or Navy. Every tee in the 2 for £90 range comes in both except Swing Sign and PNG, which come in White, Oat Gray and Sand Color.
We have a sub. Do they pay full price? A fifth tee on its own is £48, so a team of five pays £228. Add a sixth player and it's three pairs, £270.
