Padel in Bristol: Four Clubs, Side by Side

The LTA calls Bristol "one of the UK's hotbeds for padel". Its Bristol page lists five venues. Add up their courts and you get 35.

Four of those venues hold 33 of the 35 courts: Rocket Padel in St Annes, Surge Padel in Fishponds, The Padel Team in Easton and Padel4all in Lockleaze. They're quite different once you look at what's around the court: the shop, the bar, the hours and which app you need on your phone.

So that's how this guide compares them. Everything below comes from each club's own website or booking listing, checked in October 2026, and nothing else. Sessions and prices change week to week, so check the app before you set off.

Bristol's four main clubs at a glance

Club Area Courts Book on Shop Food and drink
Rocket Padel Bristol St Annes, BS4 14 indoor (12 panoramic, 2 singles) Padel Mates Pro shop with apparel and accessories Bistro, bar and café, 40+ seat social area
Surge Padel Bristol Fishponds, BS16 8 indoor panoramic Playtomic Pro shop Members bar, café and snack bar
The Padel Team Easton, BS5 7 indoor panoramic Playtomic Store Restaurant, café and snack bar
Padel4all Lockleaze Lockleaze, BS7 4 covered Padel4all's own site Retail store and racket fitting On-site food and drink

The fifth venue on the LTA's list is Redland Green Club in BS6, with two outdoor courts.

Rocket Padel Bristol, St Annes

The big one. Rocket's site lists 14 courts under one roof on St Annes Road, BS4 4EB: 12 panoramic doubles courts and 2 singles courts. If there are only two of you, it's the only one of the four that lists singles courts. The ceiling is listed at over 10m, so your lobs have room.

Off court, there's a bistro, bar and café, a social area with 40+ seats and Sky Sports on the screens. The pro shop sells apparel and accessories, and parking is free. There's even a physio, CS Physio, on site for when your elbow starts talking.

Rocket books through the Padel Mates app, not Playtomic. Memberships run at three levels:

  • Yellow, £10 a month. 10% off your share of courts and drinks, free racket hire.
  • Pink, £50 a month. 30% off courts, socials, coaching, food, drink and merch, plus 14 days' advance booking instead of 7.
  • Black, £85 a month. Everything in Pink, plus up to three free off-peak weekday bookings a day (your share).

Students get 25% off their share of an off-peak court with ID. Rocket Bristol also hosts LTA competitions. The LTA's 2026 calendar put the National Championships there in the week of 28 September, and lists the UK Padel Open County Championships in the week of 9 November and the Junior County Championships in the week of 23 November. The rest of the season is in our UK padel events calendar.

Surge Padel Bristol, Fishponds

Eight panoramic indoor courts at Unit 1, Lodge Causeway Trading Estate, BS16 3JB. Surge books on Playtomic, which lists it open 06:30 to 22:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 20:00 at weekends.

There's a pro shop, equipment hire, changing rooms and a members bar, with a café and snack bar listed on Playtomic. Parking is free but limited to marked Surge spaces. Playtomic points you to a public car park opposite on Fishponds Road if they're full.

Surge's Club Membership is one flat price. £20 a month gets 10% off courts and retail, and lets you book a month ahead instead of a week. If you mostly play daytime, the Bronze Off Peak Package costs £90 for £100 of court time, and you can spend it on coaching, socials and leagues too.

Playtomic showed a Midweek Day Social at £7 and a Friday night event on 6 November called Beer & Bandejas, at £18.

The Padel Team, Easton

Seven indoor panoramic courts at 1 Barrow Court, Barrow Road, BS5 0HU. Like Surge, it's on Playtomic.

This is the late one. Playtomic lists it open until midnight every day, from 06:30 on weekdays and 08:00 at weekends. If you finish work late or want a court after dinner, start here.

The club describes itself as pay and play, with no commitment asked of you. It's also part gym. Playtomic listed HYROX and strength circuit classes alongside the padel, and the memberships bundle both: Padel & Gym Plus at £35 a month (25% off off-peak weekday padel, your share), and Padel & Gym Premium at £75 (unlimited weekday padel from 06:30 to 16:00, your share, plus gym classes).

It had the cheapest adult session on any of the four listings: an Early Bird Social for beginners and improvers at £6.50 for 90 minutes. Playtomic also showed a free session for kids aged 5 to 8. There's a store, a restaurant and a café on site.

Padel4all Lockleaze, BS7

Four covered, lit courts on Bonnington Walk, BS7 9XF. Covered, not indoor: the LTA lists them as outdoor covered courts. On a cold night you'll feel the difference.

Padel4all books through its own site, so you'll need an account there rather than an app you might already have. It's the smallest of the four but it does a few things the others don't mention. There's a custom racket fitting centre, a viewing balcony over the courts, a court camera platform and outreach work with local schools. The standard membership gives a 7-day booking window. PadelPlus extends that to 14 days, adds court and coaching discounts, and works at every Padel4all centre.

Which app goes with which club

Three clubs, three booking routes. Rocket is on Padel Mates. Surge and The Padel Team are on Playtomic. Padel4all uses its own website. If you want to play at more than one, set up Playtomic first, as it covers two of the four. Our booking apps guide explains how each one works.

After the game

Every club here has somewhere to sit afterwards, and that's where most of a padel evening actually happens. Rocket counts Lost & Grounded Brewery among its local partners, and its news page has advertised a "Padel, Pizza & Pints" night. Surge's Friday event has beer in the name.

That bit is what our Padel & Pints heavyweight tee was made for. It's 100% cotton at 305 g/m2, cut oversized, and it's something dry and decent to change into before the bar. It's £48, or any two from the 2 for £90 range.

For the walk to the car at Lockleaze, or any Bristol court in January, our sweatshirts are £60. Rocket also lists Clifton Coffee as a partner, so if your court is booked before work, the Coffee Padelism Repeat Sweatshirt fits the morning. It's a 350 g/m2 cotton blend. A tee and a sweatshirt together come to £108, which means free UK delivery (it kicks in at £75).

FAQ

How many padel courts are there in Bristol? The LTA's Bristol page lists five venues: Rocket Padel (14), Surge Padel (8), The Padel Team (7), Padel4all Lockleaze (4) and Redland Green Club (2). That adds up to 35 courts. Playtomic also lists other clubs nearby, such as PADELHUB BS5 and S3 Bristol Filton Park, so the true number may be higher.

Which Bristol padel club is open latest? The Padel Team in Easton. Playtomic lists it open until midnight seven days a week. Surge closes at 22:00 on weekdays and 20:00 at weekends.

Do I need a membership to play padel in Bristol? No. All four clubs take bookings from non-members. Membership mostly buys you an earlier booking window and discounts. At Rocket members book 14 days ahead instead of 7, and at Surge a month ahead instead of a week.

Where can a beginner try padel cheaply in Bristol? When we checked in October 2026, The Padel Team listed a £6.50 Early Bird Social for beginners and improvers, and Surge listed a £7 Midweek Day Social. Both were weekday morning sessions.
