Padel in Birmingham: Four Clubs, Checked One by One

Birmingham has a club open until 2am, a canopied set of courts at a rugby club, a Powerleague with a show court and a David Lloyd for members.

This guide looks at four venues properly: Connect Padel in Moseley, Core Padel in Tyseley, Powerleague Birmingham and David Lloyd Birmingham. Every detail comes from the club's booking page, its website or a named listing, as they stood in October 2026. Courts, roof, hours, booking, facilities. Where two sources disagree, the page says so rather than picking one.

The four at a glance

Club Area Courts Roof Book on
Connect Padel Birmingham Moseley, B13 4 panoramic Canopy Padel Mates
Core Padel Tyseley, B11 6 panoramic (1 singles) Fully indoor Playtomic
Powerleague Birmingham Salford Stadium, B6 5 per Playtomic, 3 per LTA Canopies Playtomic
David Lloyd Birmingham Great Barr, B44 2 Indoor David Lloyd app

One thing to know first. "Covered" and "indoor" aren't the same. A canopy keeps rain off the glass and the turf. It doesn't keep a November wind out. Core and David Lloyd are inside a building; Connect and Powerleague play under a roof. Our guide to indoor padel courts in winter goes into the difference.

Core Padel, Tyseley

On paper, Core offers the most of the four. It sits at Hay Hall Business Park on Redfern Road, B11 2BE, and has six indoor panoramic courts. Court 1 is a singles court, so two of you can book without hunting for a four. Courts 4, 5 and 6 have cameras.

The hours are the headline. Playtomic lists 06:00 to 01:00 Monday to Wednesday and 06:00 to 02:00 on Thursday and Friday. Saturday runs 07:00 to 02:00 and Sunday 07:00 to 01:00. If your shift finishes late, this is your club.

What Playtomic listed for late October 2026:

  • Intro to Padel, 60 minutes, £10
  • Padel Mix-in Americano, 90 minutes, £13.50
  • Levelling Session, 60 minutes, £30
  • A Halloween tournament on 31 October, £30

Core Membership is £80 a month. Playtomic says it covers unlimited off-peak court time (Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm), booking up to four weeks ahead, member events and 20% off coaching. If you can play in the daytime, do the maths on that.

Facilities: café, bar, viewing gallery, pro shop, changing rooms, lockers, equipment hire and free parking.

Connect Padel Birmingham, Moseley

Connect is at Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club on Billesley Common, Yardley Wood Road, B13 0HN. Four panoramic courts sit under a canopy. You book through Padel Mates, which the club's own site links to. If you've only ever used Playtomic, our booking apps compared explains how the two differ.

iPadel's listing gives hours of 08:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 20:00 at weekends. That Saturday evening finish is early compared with Core, so plan around it. The same listing mentions a clubhouse, changing rooms, showers, a bar, a pro shop and a café. Both pay and play and membership are offered. Parking on site is free, according to the club. No prices are published, so ask the club directly.

This is the south Birmingham pick, and with a bar on site it suits a Sunday four that likes a drink after.

Powerleague Birmingham, Salford Stadium

Powerleague is at Salford Stadium on Lichfield Road, B6 7TG. Here's the clash. Its Playtomic page lists five panoramic doubles courts and says they're "covered with state of the art canopies." The LTA's Birmingham page lists three indoor courts. Trust the booking page on the day, because that's where you'll actually see what's free.

Court 1 is the show court. Hours run 07:00 to 23:30 on weekdays and 08:30 to 23:30 at weekends.

Powerleague leans social. In late October Playtomic showed:

  • £18 masterclasses, including Volley and Bandeja, and Serve plus First 3 Shots
  • An Advanced Tactical Matchplay class, also £18
  • An Improvers Social and Coaching session at £18.50
  • Evening and Advanced socials with music, £21.50

On site: café, snack bar, pro shop, changing rooms, lockers, equipment rental, free parking and disabled access.

David Lloyd Birmingham, Great Barr

David Lloyd Birmingham is on Shady Lane, Great Barr, B44 9ER. It has two indoor padel courts, booked for doubles through the David Lloyd Clubs app. The club page says padel is part of the Platinum membership package. It doesn't say whether guests can play, so if you're not a member, ask at reception before you plan a game.

After a match there's the Clubroom for food or coffee, plus a hydropool and sauna. Good if you're already a member. If you're not, start with one of the other three.

Other courts around Birmingham

The LTA's page also lists three outdoor venues: CorteSport at The Hayes Playing Fields, B38 (three courts, Playtomic), Four Oaks Tennis Club in Sutton Coldfield (two courts, ClubSpark) and Edgbaston Priory Club (three courts, booked through the club). What's On Live reported that The Padel Loft opened on the Aston University campus in May 2026, booked through the Nettla app. For clubs in other cities, see our UK padel clubs guide.

What to wear for a Birmingham session

Two of these four clubs play under a canopy, not inside walls. In winter that means cold hands on court and a cold walk to the car.

Feet first. Padel is all short stops and quick turns, and a sock that slides inside your shoe makes every one of them feel worse. Our grip socks are £14 and come in shoe-size ranges, so you pick your band, not a guess. There's more in our grip socks guide.

Then the bit after. A canopy keeps the rain off, but you'll still cool down fast once the game stops. Throw a hoodie on before you leave the court. The Mk1 Box Hoodie is 350 g/m2 with a fleeced inside and a boxy, drop-shoulder cut. It's £75, and UK delivery is free on orders of £75 and over, so it ships free on its own. The rest are in hoodies, including the Sunday Padel Club and Bagel Boyz versions. Check the size guide before you order.

FAQ

Does Powerleague Birmingham have three or five padel courts? Sources disagree. Playtomic lists five canopied courts and the LTA's Birmingham page lists three. Open the Playtomic booking page on the day you want to play. That shows the courts you can actually book.

Where can I play padel after midnight in Birmingham? Core Padel in Tyseley. Its Playtomic listing shows it open until 01:00 Sunday to Wednesday and 02:00 Thursday to Saturday.

Which Birmingham padel clubs are fully indoor? Core Padel in Tyseley and David Lloyd Birmingham are inside a building. Connect Padel and Powerleague play under canopies, which keep the rain off but not the wind. David Lloyd's padel is part of its Platinum membership, so for most people Core is the indoor option.

What's the cheapest way to try padel in Birmingham? In late October 2026, Core Padel listed a 60-minute Intro to Padel at £10 and a 90-minute mix-in Americano at £13.50. Prices change, so check Playtomic.

Is there padel near Birmingham city centre? The Padel Loft opened on the Aston University campus in May 2026, according to What's On Live, which put it about a 10-minute walk from New Street station.
