Funny Padel T-Shirts: The Jokes Behind Our Six Witty Tees

A funny padel t-shirt only works if the joke comes from padel itself. Not a racket stuck on a general gag, but something you'd only find funny after a few evenings on court.

I play, and I design every tee we sell. Six of them are jokes. Here's what each one is actually saying, and how to tell a tee you'll wear for years from one you'll wear once on Christmas Day.

Novelty tee or keeper? Four quick checks

Search Amazon UK for padel gifts and the top results are mostly novelty items: joke socks, candles, slogan tees. Some are good fun. Some you'd wear once. Before you buy any funny tee, ours or anyone's, run these four checks.

  1. Does a player get it faster than a non-player? The best padel jokes need a little inside knowledge. If your nan gets it straight away, it's a general joke with a racket stuck on.
  2. Is the front quiet? A big punchline on the chest gets old. A small mark on the front and the joke on the back means it still works as a plain tee on the days you're not in the mood.
  3. What does it weigh? Check the fabric weight on the listing. Ours are 100% cotton at 305 g/m2. Heavy cotton holds its shape, so the print still looks right after a lot of washes.
  4. Would you wear it to the pub where nobody plays? If the answer is yes, it's a keeper.

All six tees below pass those checks. Each one has a small mark on the front and the full design on the back.

The six witty tees, and the joke in each

Padel & Pints

The back shows a racket with a face, mid-stride, a pint in one hand. The ball is still in the air above him. That's the joke. The point isn't over and his head has already gone to the bar.

Anyone who plays social padel knows this player. Sometimes they are this player. Padel & Pints is £48.

Padel & Pizza

Same racket character, tongue out, a slice in his hand instead of a pint. It's for the group whose evening game is really a reason to order food after. The Padel & Pizza tee is £48, and on black the print comes out in white.

Espresso

The back says WAKE UP FOR PADEL, and the words are the steam rising off a coffee cup. The front is just a small Padelism wordmark.

This one's for the early court. The 7am slot someone booked in the group chat at midnight, which everyone agreed to and now regrets. It's in the 2 for £90 range.

Padel Addict

This is the dry one. Big PADEL ADDICT across the upper back, then smaller print underneath, laid out like a warning label: "To be kept away from padel courts when on social trips at all costs."

Every group has the person who packs a racket for a stag do. I've played padel on trips to the Algarve, Malaga and Madrid, so I know the type well. Possibly too well. Find it in the tees collection.

Padel Coach

"Call Your Padel Coach", then in brackets, "(it's for the best)". The racket character is on the phone next to it.

It's the thing a mate says after you've put the third smash of the night into the bottom of the net. Kind words, said in a way that isn't kind at all. Wear it if you can take the joke. Gift it if you know someone who needs to hear it. It's in the 2 for £90 range.

Bagel Boyz

This one takes a second, which is why it's my favourite. The back is a mock takeaway flyer: "Bagel Boyz", "hope ya hungry!", "servin' since '90", and "free delivery to a court near you". The freephone number at the bottom is made of 60s.

Here's the joke. In tennis slang, a bagel is a set won 6-0, because the zero looks like a bagel. Padel sets work the same way, first to six games (my padel rules guide has the full scoring). So the Bagel Boyz are serving up 6-0 sets, and delivering them. A non-player sees a bagel shop. A player sees a beating.

There's a tee and a box hoodie in the Bagel Boyz collection. The Bagel Boyz Box Hoodie is £75 in a 350 g/m2 soft fleeced cotton blend, with the same box cut as the Mk1.

Picking one for someone else

If you're buying for a padel player, match the joke to the person, not to the sport.

  • The one who never misses the drink after: Padel & Pints.
  • The one who suggests food before the last game has finished: Padel & Pizza.
  • The early bird who books the first court of the day: Espresso.
  • The one who turns every holiday into a padel trip: Padel Addict.
  • The one whose smash goes everywhere except in: Padel Coach. Know your audience.
  • The one who's a bit too pleased when they win 6-0: Bagel Boyz.

For more ideas by type of player, see my padel gifts for him guide. If it's for yourself and you want to know what to wear it with, the off-court style guide keeps it simple.

Price, the deal and sizing

Each tee is £48. All six are in the 2 for £90 range, and the discount applies by itself at checkout. Two tees come to £90, which also clears free UK delivery, since that starts at £75.

The fit is oversized and unisex. Take your usual size for the oversized look, or size down for a more regular fit. The size guide has the chest and length numbers. If it's wrong, we take returns within 30 days and do size exchanges. You pay the return postage. The details are on the returns page.

Tees are made once you order, so expect 7 to 10 working days in the UK and 7 to 14 abroad. UK Christmas orders close on 10 December 2026. My Christmas delivery dates page has the rest.

FAQ

Will a non-player get the joke?

Mostly, yes, at one level. Padel & Pints and Padel & Pizza are obvious to anyone. Espresso and Padel Addict land with anyone who knows someone a bit obsessed. Bagel Boyz is the one with a second layer that only players will spot, which is half the fun of wearing it.

What does "bagel" mean in padel?

It's borrowed from tennis. A bagel is a set that finishes 6-0, because the zero looks like a bagel. Padel uses the same set scoring, so the word carries straight over.

Is the joke on the front or the back?

The back. All six have a small mark on the front and the full design on the back, so the joke is something people read as you walk away.

Which funny tee goes with the Wake Up For Padel mug?

Espresso. Its back reads WAKE UP FOR PADEL, the same line as the Wake Up For Padel enamel mug (£15). The tee and the mug together come to £63.

Can you print our club's own in-joke?

We print custom tees and hoodies for teams and companies. Email hello@padelism.co.uk with what you have in mind and I'll come back to you.
