Padel Gifts for People Who Don't Play

You don't play padel. Someone you love won't stop talking about it. They've booked a court for 7am on a Saturday and somehow that's a good thing.

This page is for you. I play, and I make padel clothes. Here's the honest version for someone on the outside. No racket talk.

Padel in about 30 seconds

It's a racket sport played on an enclosed court with glass walls. You've probably heard it's growing. The LTA put the number of players in Britain at 1,000,000 in May 2026, and reckons about two-thirds of them also play tennis. So if your person came over from tennis, they're in good company.

The bit that matters for gifts: UK searches for padel peak in winter. People play all year, indoors and out. That means cold car parks, chilly 7am starts and a lot of standing around before and after. Remember that. It shapes most of the advice below.

What padel people actually use up

Some things wear out fast. Buying more of them is never a wasted gift.

Overgrips. This is the thin tape wrapped around the handle of the racket. The LTA describes them as there to absorb sweat and improve your hold, and says they wear out and get replaced more often than the grip underneath. Keen players swap them often. A 3 pack of our overgrips is £7, a 6 pack is £12. You don't need to know anything about their racket. An overgrip wraps over the grip that's already on it.

Balls. Padel balls look like tennis balls but they aren't the same. The LTA says they're slightly smaller and less pressurised, and that they last around three to five hours of play before they lose their bounce. Tennis balls bounce too much for the court. A few tubes from any sports shop make a solid small gift. If you can, sneak a look at the brand in their bag and match it.

Socks. Sports socks get hammered. Our grip socks are £14 and come in two sizes, UK 4-7 and UK 8-11. You only need their shoe size, which is the easiest bit of detective work on this page.

What not to buy

A racket. Weight, shape and feel all matter to the person holding it. Buying one blind is a bit like buying someone glasses.

Shoes. Also personal. The LTA advises non-marking soles for indoor courts and says padel shoes are built for side-to-side movement. Fit and sole type vary. Leave this one to them.

Novelty joke gifts. Search "padel gifts" on Amazon UK and the top results are joke socks, pill boxes and rude candles. Funny for a minute. Then it lives in a drawer.

The part nobody thinks about: before and after

A game is usually an hour and a half. What happens around it is half the point. Arriving in the cold. A coffee while you wait for the court. The drink afterwards where the whole match gets replayed from memory. That's where clothes come in, and it's what we make: heavyweight stuff for the hours either side of the game, not the game itself.

Gifts for padel players, by budget

Under £20

  • Overgrips, £7 or £12. The one thing every player uses up. See above.
  • Grip socks, £14. Pick by shoe size.
  • Wake Up For Padel enamel mug, £15. For the person who books the earliest court going and then complains about it.

Under £50

  • Organic ribbed beanie, £25. Four colours. Made for those cold early starts.
  • Caps and dad hats, £30 to £40. The organic dad hat is £30, our five panel cap £35. See all headwear.
  • Organic tote, £25. Spare kit, a towel, the post-game change of clothes. More bits are in accessories.
  • A heavyweight tee, £48. 100% cotton at 305 g/m², which is roughly double what you'd find on the high street. Padel & Pints is our best-selling tee, and it's about the pint after the game. Focus is printed like an optician's eye chart that spells out WAS IT IN WAS IT OUT. You don't need to get the joke. They will, and they'll happily explain it. Browse all tees.

The treat

  • Mk1 Box Hoodie, £75. Our best-selling hoodie. Thick (350 g/m²) and soft inside, because the inside is fleeced. It's cut big on purpose, and the shoulder seam sits lower down the arm, which is what "drop shoulder" means. It comes in eight colours, and on its own it ships free in the UK.
  • Sunday Padel Club Sweatshirt, £60. Same 350 g/m² weight as the hoodie, no hood. For the person who'd never wear a hood to the bar.
  • Heavyweight fleece joggers, £60. Pair them with the hoodie and you've got a full set for £135.
  • Track jacket, £78. An easy layer on top of whatever they played in.
  • Two tees for £90. Pick any two from the 2 for £90 range and the price drops at checkout. One for them, one for their padel partner, if you're feeling generous.

Buying for a woman who plays? We have cropped hoodies at £70, 260 g/m² crewneck and cropped tees, and more in the women's collection.

Quick picks by who you're buying for

Your partner. Go for the hoodie or the sweatshirt. It's the thing they'll wear most, on court days and every other day.

Your dad. A 6 pack of overgrips with the mug. Practical, and it shows you listened when he explained the rules for the third time.

The friend who organises the group chat. A Padel & Pints tee. They're the one who suggests the pub afterwards anyway.

Your son or daughter who moved abroad. A sweatshirt or tee posted straight to them. We ship to Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, so you can skip the trip to the post office.

Getting the size right when it isn't your size

This is the bit that worries most gift buyers. A few ways to make it easy.

Pick something with no size. The mug, beanie, caps and dad hat don't come in sizes. Overgrips fit any racket. Socks just need a shoe size.

Borrow from their wardrobe. Pick the tee or hoodie they reach for every weekend. Put it on a table, smooth it out, and run a tape measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other. Write the number down and check it against our size guide. The label size on another brand's top tells you very little, because sizes vary so much between brands.

Read the size note before you choose. Our product pages say it plainly: tees and hoodies run big, so size down for a regular fit, and sweatshirts are true to size. So if your person wears a medium and likes things neat rather than roomy, a small tee or hoodie may suit them better. Not sure how they like it? Stick with their usual size and they get the oversized look the clothes were designed for.

Keep the order email. If the size is wrong, they can exchange it for another size. Returns are accepted within 30 days too, with return postage paid by whoever sends it back. The returns page has everything else.

Timing

Order early. Our clothes are made to order, so they aren't sitting on a shelf waiting to go. UK delivery takes 7 to 10 working days from your order, and international delivery 7 to 14 working days. Free UK delivery kicks in on orders of £75 and over, so a hoodie on its own ships free.

For Christmas, the last order date for UK delivery is 10 December 2026. Sending a gift abroad? International delivery takes 7 to 14 working days, so order as early as you possibly can.

FAQ

What's a good padel gift if I know nothing about padel? Overgrips, grip socks or a mug. Every player uses the first two up, and none of them need any knowledge of their kit.

Can I buy padel balls as a gift? Yes. They lose their bounce after a few hours of play, so keen players always need more. Tennis balls won't work, so make sure the tube says padel.

What if I get the clothing size wrong? Measure something they already wear and check it against our size guide. Remember tees and hoodies run big. If it still doesn't fit, they can swap it for another size, or it can go back within 30 days, return postage paid by the sender.

Should I buy them a racket? Probably not. It's a personal choice, like shoes. Give them something they'll use around the game instead, or let them choose the racket themselves.

Do I need to know which racket they have to buy overgrips? No. An overgrip goes on top of the base grip, so it works on any padel racket. Just pick a 3 pack or a 6 pack.
