Hexagon Cup Padel 2027: Teams, Format and a UK Fan's Guide to Madrid

The Hexagon Cup is padel with team colours. Eight teams, famous owners watching from the bench, and men and women playing for the same side. The next one is at the Caja Mágica in Madrid from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 January 2027.

Here's what's confirmed, what isn't yet, and how to get there from the UK. I've played padel in Madrid. A January weekend there with top-level padel on is an easy sell.

What's confirmed for January 2027

  • Dates: Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 January 2027. That's four days, down from five last time.
  • Venue: Caja Mágica, Camino de Perales 23, 28041 Madrid.
  • Who runs it: Hexagon World Series, a team circuit governed by the FIP. Madrid is the first event of its 2027 season.
  • Name: GENERALI Hexagon Cup Madrid. Generali is the main sponsor for a second year.
  • Teams: not named yet. The organiser's site still shows eight teams, the same number as 2026.
  • Format and rosters: not published yet. In August the organiser said the new format would be explained in the following weeks. It is presenting the 2027 season in Abu Dhabi on 21 and 22 October 2026.

The organiser says new destinations will follow Madrid during 2027, but it hasn't named them.

How it's different from the regular tour

At a normal tour event, pairs enter a draw and one pair wins. At the Hexagon Cup, you're backing a team.

In the 2025 and 2026 editions, according to the FIP and The Padel Paper:

  • Each team had three pairs: a men's pair, a women's pair and a Next Gen pair of young players.
  • In the league phase, each team played eight matches: three men's, three women's and two Next Gen.
  • A men's or women's win was worth two points. A Next Gen win was worth one.
  • The top two teams met in a Sunday final, played as best of three matches. Third and fourth played off for the last podium spot.

Look at those points again. A women's win was worth exactly the same as a men's win. That's the standout detail.

Don't write off the Next Gen match either. The 2025 final was level at 1-1 when Krü Padel's Next Gen pair, Marina Lobo and Águeda Pérez Ortiz, won 6-3, 6-4 to take the title from the Rafa Nadal Academy team.

One warning: the 2027 event is a day shorter, so the format could change. Check the organiser's site before you plan around a particular match.

The teams and who owns them

This is the list in the December 2025 press release that announced Generali as sponsor of the 2026 edition. The 2027 line-up hasn't been confirmed yet.

Team Owners as listed in the release
AD/vantage Padel Team Andy Murray, Anthony Joshua, Arran Yentob and Dani Vallverdu (AD Global Sports)
Krü Padel by Taktika Sergio "Kun" Agüero, Leo Messi, and Taktika Padel's Gabriel Pérez and Edu Conde
RL9 Padel Team by Cupra Robert Lewandowski
ElevenEleven Eva Longoria, Pepe Bastón and Dani Homedes (Dara Sport)
Rafa Nadal Academy Team powered by Richard Mille Rafa Nadal Academy
10 Padel Alpine Pierre Gasly and Loïc Féry
Team Bella Puerto Rico María Esteve and Carlos Lopez-Lay
Hexagon Team Hexagon Cup fans

If you want a British team to shout for, it's AD/vantage. Murray and Joshua's side are the holders. They beat Krü Padel in the 2026 final after winning the first two matches: Delfi Brea and Martina Calvo won 7-5, 6-3, then Martín Di Nenno and Juan Tello won 7-6, 6-2. RL9 finished third.

Before the 2026 event, the FIP named some of the players: Arturo Coello for Team Bella Puerto Rico, Agustín Tapia for RL9, Fede Chingotto for Krü Padel and Paula Josemaría for ElevenEleven. Rosters can change every year, so treat this as a guide to who might turn up.

Tickets

The organiser's site links to tickets on Fever. On 19 October 2026, prices before the booking fee were:

  • Category 2 seats: €18
  • Category 1 seats: €35
  • Premium View seats: €60 to €65
  • Boxes: €224
  • Reduced mobility area: €17.50

Fever lists sessions at 10:00 and 14:00 and says the event is open to all ages. Check if your ticket covers one session or the whole day before you buy. Use the link on the organiser's site rather than a reseller.

Getting there from the UK

Fly into Madrid-Barajas. Metro Line 8 runs from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios, a big interchange in the city.

For the venue, Madrid's transport consortium says San Fermín-Orcasur station on Metro Line 3 is under a ten-minute walk away. Buses 23, 78 and 123 stop about 300 metres from the venue, and the T32 stops by the car park. Those details come from a 2022 notice for the tennis at the same venue, so check the route before you go.

If you can only do a long weekend, aim for Saturday and Sunday. In past editions the final was on the Sunday, and the event now runs Thursday to Sunday.

The Spanish weather agency AEMET's 1991 to 2020 averages for central Madrid put January at about 10°C by day and 3°C at night. Evenings are cold, and you'll be walking from the metro after a late session.

What to wear in the stands

You'll be sitting still for hours, then walking out into a cold night. That calls for a proper layer.

The Mk1 Box Hoodie is the one to take. It's 350 g/m2 with a fleeced inside and an oversized boxy fit. It comes in eight colours and costs £75, so UK delivery is free. If you'd rather go without a hood, our sweatshirts are £60. The Sunday Padel Club Sweatshirt suits a Sunday final.

Our clothing is made to order and takes 7 to 10 working days in the UK. Allow at least two weeks before you fly, and longer over Christmas and New Year.

Watching from home

The 2027 TV deal hasn't been announced. In 2026 the FIP said every match would be shown on the event's YouTube channel, with DAZN covering it around the world. FAQ

Is the Hexagon Cup part of Premier Padel?

No, it's a separate team event. It's run by Hexagon World Series and governed by the FIP. The organiser lists Premier Padel among the groups involved in the project, but the Hexagon Cup has its own teams, format and tickets.

Who is playing at the Hexagon Cup in 2027?

Not confirmed yet. The organiser is presenting the 2027 season in Abu Dhabi on 21 and 22 October 2026, so team and player news should follow soon after. The table above shows the 2026 teams and owners.

How much are Hexagon Cup tickets?

On 19 October 2026, seats on Fever started at €18 plus a booking fee. Premium seats were €60 to €65 and boxes were €224.

Do the Next Gen matches really matter?

Yes. In past editions a Next Gen win was worth one point in the league phase. In 2025 the deciding match of the final was the Next Gen women's match.
